A la estela de Los Beatles y de su enorme repercusión, nacen en Europa gran cantidad de bandas que trataron de imitar su estilo y su música. Uno de esos grupos es Herman's Hermits, creado en Manchester a principios de los sesenta y que va a tener amplia notoriedad tanto en Inglaterra con en Estados Unidos, así como en distintos paises de influencia anglosajona, por donde cosechan varios números uno en las listas de ventas. Su cantante y líder indiscutible es un jovencito de mucha personalidad llamado Peter Noone, que cuando en 1971 decide abandonar a sus compañeros para iniciar otro camino, deja huérfano al grupo, que se resiente y prácticamente desaparece de escena. En España son conocidos, sobre todo, por "Something is Happening" esta agradable canción -inconfundicle muestra de su música-, que habían grabado en el invierno de 1968. PMR 5-11-2012
